Scoring: IMP Teams

P      1  P  2*
2** ?

*2 may have 3 cards but guarantees 13 HCP
**2 may also have 5 cards suit; exactly 5-5 shape, 8-10 HCP; if directly opened 2 would suggest strong bicolor hand (16-21); direct 2 also (16-21) single suiter

Ditto. This is too weak for 3. I see no problem here...

3H showing short hearts and a club fit which is what I would have bid without the 2H bid, and is even more attractive after it.

3 - must be 100% forcing given the 13 points partner has right?

First time in my life I would ignore one of my principles. Normally I prefer to wait last post before I claim double dummy mostly without comment. I assure everybody that I have full respect all inputs posted here. Nice efforts as usual and i proud of to be a member of this forum. Just trying to be sure if i am taken right.

So 3C competition, but 3H GF showing shortness in opp suit and fit to C?

Thanks and hopefully noone misunderstands me.

Sincerely

Hamdi

Hamdi, 3 is still GF because partner has made a GF call. The interference does not change this. 3 varies by partnership agreement. It can be a splinter or a Strong Cuebid... Either way, I think this hand is too weak for a 3 bid.

3 is forcing when you play normal openers.
But this hand is great, not minimum, so I show it with 3 . My second choice would be 4 , not 3 - but that would be a bid too much.
Kind Regards

Roland

Totally agree with 3 which should still be a splinter. Other bids are just natural. You don't need a cuebid to show a good hand, any minimum level bid including pass is forcing.
