I have been holding out for Bob, a local player friend of mine, who would really enjoy a NABC, having never played in one, but his schedule is such that he still cannot commit to playing. As my wife already has a partner, and she would like to play (get creamed) in the BAM's, Bob has suggested that I check for alternatives in case he cannot actually go. All other regulars are doing something else for Thanksgiving week or are otherwise unavailable.

So...

I am seeking a possible fourth for the Sunday-Monday Open BAM with a person who has a sense of humor. The team would include me (as partner), my wife, and her partner, Ruth Odenweller. My wife, who has only about 130 MP (but two BRQ's and almost 40 gold points), is actually the stronger partner. Her friend and partner, Ruth, is a club director and owner, a Bronze LM. But, Leah has been trained in "the other way of thinking," with terms like "cooperative cues," "high ODR doubles," "fit bids," and the like being as familiar to her (and as properly used) as Stayman and Blackwood. Ruth is more traditional.

In any event, I also seem to have a possible opening on Fri-Sat for the same reason, for the LM Pairs. I am still hoping that Bob can play, even if our chances are not that strong, simply because he is a good friend who would really enjoy this. But, it is getting late...

Alternatively, a pair of women with a sense of humor might be welcomed for the Women's BAM with Leah and Ruth -- I can always P.D. those days...

I am also considering just playing the Blue Ribbons with Leah as the main pairs event, such that the LM Pairs time might be limited to just the second day (a regional event) if Bob does not show. So, if anyone is interested in that schedule (Sat, then maybe the Sun-Mon BAM) or whatever, let me know.
"Gibberish in, gibberish out. A trial judge, three sets of lawyers, and now three appellate judges cannot agree on what this law means. And we ask police officers, prosecutors, defense lawyers, and citizens to enforce or abide by it? The legislature continues to write unreadable statutes. Gibberish should not be enforced as law."
