♠KTx ♥x ♦AKQxx ♣QJxx
1NT = 11-14ish.
(1♣)-P-(P)-?
Edit: Lol at "x then 1D" option. This is obviously "x then 2D if possible"
Edit2: God I am stupid tonight. LHO opens 1♣.

Yes, they opened 1C. You're being asked whether to balance, and 1D is listed as an option.

1♣-P-P-1♦ shows fewer HCP than
1♣-1♦?
My opinion on bidding over a preferential minor is just let them play it unless I've got a very good suit or a very good hand. Therefore, while a 'balance', this should have a lot more points than a normal 'balance'. This would also be true for 1♣-P-P-1NT.
Am I 'way out there', or is this what the experts play?
