IMPs, All Red

KTx x AKQxx QJxx

1NT = 11-14ish.

(1)-P-(P)-?

Edit: Lol at "x then 1D" option. This is obviously "x then 2D if possible"

Edit2: God I am stupid tonight. LHO opens 1.

Yes, they opened 1C. You're being asked whether to balance, and 1D is listed as an option.
... that would still not be conclusive proof, before someone wants to explain that to me as well as if I was a 5 year-old. - gwnn

Well, if I did double, Opener XX, pass-pass to me, I would bid 1.

And we ask police officers, prosecutors, defense lawyers, and citizens to enforce or abide by it? The legislature continues to write unreadable statutes. Gibberish should not be enforced as law."

If you don't mind me changing the subject slightly (there doesn't seem to be much disagreement here), do you feel that

1-P-P-1 shows fewer HCP than
1-1?

My opinion on bidding over a preferential minor is just let them play it unless I've got a very good suit or a very good hand. Therefore, while a 'balance', this should have a lot more points than a normal 'balance'. This would also be true for 1-P-P-1NT.

Am I 'way out there', or is this what the experts play?

You could be lighter in balancing seat than in direct seat, especially for the 1NT call.
