and i'm not trying to come off as more than decent. i agree that a lot of non-trivial mistakes aren't easy to catch in the time available between play (and too much consideration just causes for more mistakes on subsequent hands)...but enough are...and as important, and what i spend more time on self-review of during play is the auction...this is easier to do, easier to ask people you trust about quickly, and is really aided by the movie...

THis is automatic? I can't believe anyone can say that, just because someone likes to reset the score does not make them rude, it just means they like to start with a clean sheet, they may be rude people (but how can you judge that just because they ask for an undo

in no way shape or form is it automatic. HOWEVER, the vast majority of times when someone asks for a reset (and stays b/c it was given) they turn out to be quite rude to p, opps. lots of "faster please", "p?????????????????" and quite often they bail after misbidding/misplaying/a hand or two...

i.e. in my book a "reset score" the moment someone sits down is automatic strike 1.... then complaining that it wasn't reset is an auto strike 2.

I completely agree with JMC. from his reasons, #1 is a major annoyance for me (clearing score also clear movie history).

As a side note, I tend to not like people who came at the table and say first "reset score" instead of "hello all" or something. Be polite first, worry about score later.

If you hover your mouse over either the host name (on the left, not at the table) or over the "# Kibitzers" column, you should get a window showing the table description.

This window will show you, the Hosts Profile, the table type, any comments/table description added by the host (if there were any), and what chat options are allowed at the table.

So, if you are scrolling through the tables, you have to stop the scroll to check each individual table to even see if there is a table note?

The only time I play against randoms is with Haspel in the afternoons. Usually no one is on yet, and its an opportunity to have a little fun and (usually) bunny bash. We try to play well, but sometimes things get sloppy.

If a random arrives and wants a score clear, its never a problem unless they are snotty about it. If theres a hand where I am curious enough about something, I'll pull it up on myhands. If my pard makes an error, it doesn't bother me in the least. We are just on to have a little fun and break the grind of our daily workday.

Later in the day when I'm playing with non-randoms, its usually in a TG or a set game, and no one is asking for a reset, although if things get out of whack (40 IMPs either way) we'll reset just to keep everyone interested in the game. It can be dispiriting to be reminded of your crappy play with "-52.3 IMPS" staring at you from the upper left hand corner.

If I played all the time with randoms I might be more concerned with this whole thing but I don't.

Technically, no. If you are scrolling down the list of tables with your cursor on the Table Host name, the table description will appear for each table as you move through the list.

But if you scroll thru the list too fast, the description for each table will not appear long enough for anyone to actually be able to read it.

The only solution is to play with like minded friends.
