Correction
Since screens are now in use, the evening sessions in Dallas will start half an hour later than previously advised. So add 30 minutes to SF3&4 and F3&4. For full schedule, go to

The extra time allowance has nothing to do with screens. Used properly, play with screens should not take any more time. It should read, "given that the players are in a semi-final of a super-serious event they will probably want to think a bit longer and harder about their bids and plays but blame any time delays on the screens".
Disclaimer: The above post may be a half-baked sarcastic rant intended to stimulate discussion and it does not necessarily coincide with my own views on this topic.
I ♦ bidding the suit below the suit I'm actually showing not to be described as a "transfer" for the benefit of people unfamiliar with the concept of a transfer

No !
Of course the additional time is owed to the use of screens.
You need more time with screens, because
1. you see the bidding sequential at both sides and not simultaneous and therefore you have to make up your mind in sequential order
2. you ask and answer (to) all questions in writing - which is far more time-expensive
3. you alert and explain all unusual bids twice - and explain them twice
4. you are expected to delay the tray sometimes with the aim to randomize the used time and to ascertain that periods up to 20 seconds dont carry any UI

Anyone know the line-ups for the first 16 boards in each half of the final. I didn't get to watch these and the Vugraph "forgets" these names - only giving the players for bds 17-32. If you can remember them I will add the names to the .lin files and post on Nikos's site.
Please give for each room N/S and E/W in that order.
Thanks
Denis
