FYI: According to Friday's NY Times:
Dorothy Hayden Truscott passed away last Tuesday, July 4. I knew that she had been ill for a couple of years (at least). She was 80 years old. I didn't know her personally although I had seen her at local tournaments on several occasions several years ago. Yet, I have this empty feeling inside...........
My sincerest condolences and prayers to her friends and family.

I care about the friends I have made on BBO. Also, I am extremely concerned about the environment/ ecology/ wildlife/ the little planet that we call Earth. How much more of the world's habitat and food supply for animals do we plan on destroying. How many more wetlands are we going to drain, fill, and build on? How many more sand dunes are we going to knock down in the interests of high-rise hotels or luxury homes?

'Bid Better, Play Better' was my first bridge book (probably a mid-1970's edition) and responsible for increasing my interest in the game, so Dorothy will always have a special place in my memories.
